Las Vegas covered our +10.0 against Indiana in a game that closed out the second-best-attended crowd in franchise history. Chicago’s two picks both landed too, covering +9.5 and +10.5 against Atlanta in a genuine classic as the Dream squandered a 22-point lead before Jordin Canada buried a buzzer-beating layup to escape 93-91. Allisha Gray dropped 29 for Atlanta, but the story of the night was Angel Reese, who went down with a leg injury early in the fourth after making an awkward step going up for a layup. She finished with eight points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in just 20 minutes before exiting. The good news for Atlanta is the All-Star break gives her 10 days to recover before things pick back up.

Dallas kept rolling too, though we weren’t officially on it while the Wings beat LA 90-82 to extend their winning streak to six, tying a franchise record. Paige Bueckers dropped 25 before a scary late-game collision with Ogwumike sent both players to the floor for a couple of minutes. Jessica Shepard quietly put up an 11-point, 14-rebound, six-assist night that didn’t get enough attention.

And Phoenix snapped a five-game losing streak, beating Connecticut 72-63 behind a season-high 21 from DeWanna Bonner and 18 from Kahleah Copper. No play there for us, model had it as a pass.

LAS VEGAS ACES at TORONTO TEMPO - 8:00 PM ET

A first-ever meeting between these two franchises, and it’s not close on paper. Las Vegas is 17-7 and sitting at 10-2 on the road this season, currently the No. 3 seed in the league. A’ja Wilson leads the entire WNBA in scoring at 25.5 points a night - nearly three points clear of second place - and also paces the league in blocks. Jackie Young sits fifth in assists and enters tonight one steal away from a career milestone: 3,500 points, 1,000 rebounds, 1,000 assists and 300 steals, a club only 25 players in league history have joined. The Aces have been off since a July 12 loss to Indiana, using the break before this weekend’s All-Star Game.

Toronto is 10-14 and has cooled considerably, dropping seven of their last 10 to fall five games under .500. Marina Mabrey remains the engine, sitting third in the league in scoring at 21 a night and coming off her first career All-Star selection, but she’s without Brittney Sykes and Kiki Rice for a third straight week. The Tempo can score - seventh in offensive rating - but the defense has been a serious problem, allowing 92.3 points a game.

Toronto has drawn massive crowds this season, including a WNBA regular-season attendance record earlier this month in Montreal. Tonight’s a different kind of test - whether that home-court energy can matter against the two-time defending champs missing three rotation pieces.

NEW YORK LIBERTY at DALLAS WINGS - 8:00 PM ET

The makeup date has arrived. This one was originally slated for last Thursday before mechanical issues with New York’s charter flight stranded the team on the tarmac for hours, forcing a league postponement.

New York is 13-12 and has dropped five straight on the road, with a defense that’s slipped noticeably - allowing 91.7 points a game over the last six. Breanna Stewart remains the focal point at 20.6 points and 8.4 rebounds a night, and she looked the part in Saturday’s 108-88 loss to Indiana, going for 26 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Jonquel Jones has been steady in the paint. The issue is everything around them - Sabrina Ionescu is contributing but not dominating, and the Liberty have fallen behind early in too many recent games to recover.

Dallas enters riding that six-game winning streak we just talked about, and Bueckers - questionable tonight after that late collision Sunday - has been the best player in basketball not named A’ja Wilson over this stretch. The Wings have already beaten New York twice this season and get their first home crack at the Liberty in 2026. Arike Ogunbowale and Jessica Shepard give this roster real depth beyond its star point guard.

Dallas playing its third game in four days is worth watching. So is Bueckers’ health after Sunday.

MINNESOTA LYNX at SEATTLE STORM - 10:00 PM ET

Minnesota is the best team in the WNBA and it hasn’t been close. The Lynx are 20-6, winners of five straight, and enter fresh off a 101-93 win over Portland where Olivia Miles nearly notched a triple-double with 14 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and four blocks. Napheesa Collier remains out, and this roster genuinely hasn’t needed her. The one crack in the armor - Minnesota has allowed at least 80 points in seven straight games, and head coach Cheryl Reeve has been openly frustrated about the defensive slippage.

Seattle is 6-21 and on a four-game losing streak, but Friday’s 110-107 loss to Indiana turned some heads. Dominique Malonga dropped 28 points and 14 rebounds, Awa Fam and Flau’jae Johnson each added 16, and even Caitlin Clark - who put up a 45-point, 10-assist night of her own in that game - had praise for Seattle’s young core afterward. This isn’t the same Storm team that got run off the floor earlier this season.

Minnesota beat Seattle by 20 back in early June. The talent gap remains enormous. Whether Seattle’s young core shows the same fight tonight as it did Friday is the real storyline.

WASHINGTON MYSTICS at GOLDEN STATE VALKYRIES - 10:00 PM ET

These two just played each other Saturday, and Golden State has now won five straight matchups against Washington dating back to last season. The Valkyries limited the Mystics to 49 and 69 points across their two most recent meetings, and that defensive stranglehold is a big reason Golden State enters riding a five-game winning streak and an 11-3 record at home.

Gabby Williams was the story of Friday’s win over Atlanta, scoring 13 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter alone and not missing a shot in the frame after managing just three points through three quarters. That kind of late-game scoring punch has been a hallmark of this Valkyries team all season.

Washington is 12-12 and has gone 2-3 over its last five, including a 75-56 blowout loss at home to Portland. The Mystics tried something different Saturday against Golden State, going with their tallest possible lineup in the second half to combat the Valkyries’ speed advantage - it’s the kind of adjustment that suggests Washington is searching for answers against a team they simply haven’t been able to solve.

Golden State has won all five head-to-head meetings this season. Whatever Washington tries tonight, they’ll need it to work better than it has all year.
