Toronto covered our +6.5 on Sunday against New York winning 93-91.
The Liberty fought back from a 20-point deficit to tie the game with 52 seconds left on the clock as Nyara Sabally hit the tiebreaker to bring home the outright win.
Marina Mabrey has consecutive 30-point games, the fifth time this season, while Laura Juskaite added 18 points and Maria Conde scored 15 points in the win and helping snap a 4-game losing streak.
LOS ANGELES SPARKS at ATLANTA DREAM - 7:00 PM ET
Gateway Center Arena, College Park, GA - TV: USA, Local
Atlanta has been one of the bigger surprises in the league - and not in a good way lately. The Dream were 13-4 at their peak and looked like a legitimate contender but have since dropped six of their last seven and now sit at 13-10, sliding down the standings in a hurry. Angel Reese is listed as questionable tonight with a leg injury after missing Saturday’s loss to Portland. Brionna Jones is also questionable with a knee issue. When your two best frontcourt players are uncertain, that’s a problem against a team that’s starting to find its identity.
Los Angeles is 10-11 and has scored over 100 in back-to-back games, drilling 14 threes in Friday’s 102-87 win over Chicago. Kelsey Plum remains out with a lower leg injury - she’s been out since June 21 - but Nneka Ogwumike, Rae Burrell and Dearica Hamby have stepped up in her absence. This is a Sparks team that’s been inconsistent all season but is quietly playing its best basketball right now.
Atlanta is a -7.5 favorite at home but unless Reese is playing, you never know which Dream team will show up.
PHOENIX MERCURY at MINNESOTA LYNX - 9:00 PM ET
Target Center, Minneapolis, MN - TV: Peacock, NBCSN, Local
Phoenix just got blown out 106-58 by Las Vegas and no, that’s not a misprint. It was one of the three largest margins of defeat in WNBA history and came just weeks after the Mercury beat the Aces by 30 on the same floor. This team can be wildly inconsistent and has now lost three straight, averaging 71 points during that stretch.
Kahleah Copper remains their most reliable scorer but the Mercury are thin without Natasha Mack, who is out with a foot injury. The defense has been porous and the turnovers have been mounting.
Minnesota is 17-6, tied with Las Vegas for the best record in the league. Olivia Miles returned from a two-game absence with a calf injury Saturday and went for 23 points, four threes, and looked every bit like the Rookie of the Year frontrunner she is. Kayla McBride dropped 25 in the same game. Napheesa Collier remains out but her return is described as imminent.
The Lynx have already beaten Phoenix twice this season - by 34 points in June and by 14 in a road win earlier in the year.
Minnesota is -13.0 at home tonight but Phoenix is playing better on the road this season and the Lynx tend to play down to their competition.
